The Spin Top 25 Media Poll is back in February, right before the start of the 2024 CrossFit Games season. The votes came in and were tallied as we are less than two weeks away from the 24.1 CrossFit Open live announcement.
This month’s poll included 17 members in the media and featured two new international votes – Andreas Sandström from Sweden’s CF Nyheter and Tamás Radnai from Hungary’s CrossIron.
As for the rankings, Ricky Garard and Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr hold the top spot in the men’s and women’s Top 25, respectively.
For Garard, he moved up four spots from 5th place in Novemeber to take the #1 spot from Roman Khrennikov. Garard, however, received five 1st place votes while Khrennikov had seven. Jeff Adler rounded out the top 3 with four 1st place votes and Pat Vellner moved to 4th with one 1st place vote. Dallin Pepper rounds out the top 5.
New to the Top 25 this month is James Sprague (22) and Jack Farlow (23). Nick Mathew and Austin Hatfield dropped out of the Top 25.
On the women’s side, the top 10 from November remained completely unchanged. Toomey-Orr held 1st place and received 13 1st place votes. Laura Horvath and Emma Lawson stayed in 2nd and 3rd place, respectively, and each earned two 1st place votes.
Alex Gazan and Gabriela Migala rounded out the top 5.
Annie Thorisdottir and Elisa Fuliano both moved into the Top 25 this month. It looks like a few forgot that Annie is pregnant…
Thorisdottir and Fuliano replaced Dani Speegle and Mal O’Brien, who both fell outside the Top 25 this month. O’Brien announced last week that she would not be competing again this season.
