Jamie Greene and Sara Sigmundsdottir will be among the favorites to qualify for the CrossFit Games this weekend at the CrossFit Strength in Depth Sanctional. Greene and Sigmundsdottir will be competing against three fellow Games veterans (Jessica Griffith, Bjork Odinsdottir and Thuri Helgadottir) and many more Regional athletes in the first European Sanctional.
The CrossFit Strength in Depth Sanctional is in London, England, and the top finisher in the Elite Men’s, Women’s and Team competition will earn their spot to compete at the 2019 CrossFit Games. The two-day Sanctional begins on Saturday, February 23, just two days after the start of the 2019 CrossFit Open.
All of the events have been released…except the first one. Event 1 will be 19.1, the details of which the entire CrossFit community will learn Thursday night.
The men’s competition features eight CrossFit Games veterans, including: Adrian Mundwiler, Alec Smith, Craig Kenney, Elliot Simmonds, Lucas Parker, Paul Tremblay, Roman Khrennikov and Willy Georges.
CrossFit Strength in Depth will provide a live stream beginning at 8:45am (local time) for those wanting to watch the action live. For those in the United States, live coverage begins at 3:45am Eastern / 12:45am Pacific.
