Seungyeon Choi Will Not Compete in 2026 CrossFit Games Season

Seungyeon Choi had registered to compete at the Far East Throwdown and MAD Fitness Festival this year in an effort to qualify for the CrossFit Games. Choi, who was looking to make her fifth CrossFit Games appearance this season, announced that she will not participate in the remainder of the season.

“Contrary to my wish to always show you my best self, it seems my body and mind are not quite ready yet,” Choi shared on an Instagram post. “Therefore, I have decided not to participate in this year’s Games season.”

It is unclear whether Choi is dealing with an injury. However, signs point to an injury after she finished 296th in Quarterfinals. It was her worst Quarterfinals finish since they began in 2021.

Choi said she will take things slowly the remainder of the year and plans to return “looking bright and happy again.”

Choi has competed at the CrossFit Games four times – 2021, 2022, 2024 and 2025. Her best finish was 24th in 2024.
