Stephanie Chung is Competing with a Fibular Avulsion Fracture

If you take a look at the leaderboard, the bottom of the list is Stephanie Chung. The CrossFit Games rookie from Abu Dhabi has appeared to struggle this week in Madison. He only has two top 30 finishes with her best coming from the Speed Clean & Jerk Ladder where she took 27th.

Her performance, though, is likely due to an injury. If you looked closely at her lower left leg, Chung has her ankle taped as she is dealing with a fibular avulsion fracture. It is likely a stress fracture that impacts Chung’s range of motion and will be very painful while running.

With another run event slated for Sunday morning, Chung will be in pain once again. Let’s hope she can make it through the final three events so she can complete all of the events in her rookie debut.

Oh, and check out our interview with Chung leading up to the CrossFit Games.
