It’s hard to believe the 2026 CrossFit Open is already over. But alas, the three weeks of the Open is behind us and now for the top athletes it’s time to look ahead at what’s next.
INDIVIDUALS
The top 25% worldwide in the Open, including the top 25% worldwide in each of the age group divisions will take on the Quarterfinals beginning next Thursday, March 26.
These athletes will take on an unknown number of workouts over the course of five days, from March 26 to Monday, March 30. In 2023 and 2024, there were four workouts in Quarterfinals, but there were five workouts in 2021 and 2022. So likely expect four or five workouts next weekend.
From there, the top 2,000 worldwide in Quarterfinals will be eligible to compete in the Online Semifinals in June. Those same athletes will also have the ability to compete and qualify to the 2026 CrossFit Games via one of the in-person Semifinals.
The Online Semifinals for individuals is June 11-15.
For age group athletes, the top 400 athletes in the 35-54 year-old divisions and top 300 in the 55+ year-old divisions will advance to Semifinals. This year there are a select number of in-person Semifinals and there will be an online Semifinal as well to qualify to the 2026 CrossFit Games.
The Age Group Online Semifinals are on May 7-11.

TEAMS
For teams, there are no Quarterfinals. Instead, all team athletes who completed the Open will be eligible to compete in the Online Semifinals.
The Team Online Semifinals are on June 4-8.
There are also a few in-person Semifinals that will host teams looking to qualify for the 2026 CrossFit Games. For example, Syndicate Crown will invite 40 teams based on their performance in the CrossFit Open. The invites will use the worldwide Open leaderboard.
ADAPTIVE DIVISIONS
Similar to teams, the adaptive divisions do not have Quarterfinals.
Instead, the top 20 adaptive athletes from each division in the Open will advance to the online WheelWOD Adaptive Semifinals on May 14-17.
The top 10 in each division will qualify to the 2026 Adaptive CrossFit Games by WheelWOD.
COMMUNITY CUP
And for everyone who submitted scores for all three workouts of the Open, there is the Community Cup. Back for its second year, the 2026 CrossFit Community Cup will be an affiliate-based online competition to gauge where athletes sit against others of similar abilities.
This year the Community Cup will run from August 1-31, giving athletes and affiliates more time to complete the workouts. Additional details on the virtual competition will be shared at a later date closer to the competition.
