Tia-Clair Toomey and Patrick Vellner Win Wodapalooza, Secure CrossFit Games Invite

The 2nd CrossFit Sanctional just wrapped up in Miami, Florida. The 2019 Wodapalooza CrossFit Festival brought out one of the toughest fields outside of the CrossFit Games. With 22 CrossFit Games veterans competing in the men’s and women’s elite division, two-time CrossFit Games defending champion Tia-Clair Toomey and last year’s runner-up Patrick Vellner took the top spot.

The win secures a spot at the 2019 CrossFit Games this August. Toomey and Vellner join Sam Briggs and Mat Fraser after their wins at the Dubai CrossFit Championship. In addition to an invite to the CrossFit Games, both Toomey and Vellner earned $25,000 for their victories.

Joining Toomey on the podium were Kari Pearce and Sara Sigmundsdottir. Pearce and Sigmundsdottir earned $15,000 and $10,000, respectively, along with a spot to compete in the Fittest in Cape Town Sanctional in two weeks.

On the men’s side, Training Think Tank’s Travis Mayer and Noah Ohlsen rounded out the podium.
