After two weeks of the Dubai CrossFit Championship (DCC) Online Qualifier, two familiar faces are atop the leaderboard. 2018 CrossFit Games rookies Willy Georges and Laura Horvath are in 1st place and have pretty much solidified an invite to the Finals in December.
Georges has 52 points after four scored events and leads some big names on the leaderboard like Dean Linder-Leighton (2nd), Streat Hoerner (3rd), Jacob Heppner (5th), Ben Smith (8th) and Alex Anderson (9th). Out of the 35 qualifying spots, 14 athletes are CrossFit Games veterans.
On the women’s side, Horvath has just 12 points after two weeks. Horvath won both scored events during week 1 and followed that up with two events in the top 7 this past week. Notable names behind Horvath are Jamie Greene (3rd), Eik Gylfadottir (5th), Kelley Jackson (7th) and Jessica Coughlan (9th). There are 12 women in the top 35 who have competed as individuals at the CrossFit Games.
There is just one more week of qualifying events before the field is set. The final workouts will be released on Wednesday, October 17.
