CrossFit Games veteran Willy Georges has withdrawn from the CrossFit Strength in Depth Sanctional. Georges was sick last week and was not feeling well heading into this weekend. After a 12th and 17th place finish to start the London-based Sanctional, Georges withdrew from competition.
With winning the competition out of the picture, Georges withdrew to avoid getting injured, according to his coach.
While Georges is not competing the rest of the weekend, his score of 362 reps on 19.1 will keep him in contention to qualify via the CrossFit Open. Georges finished 3rd in the world in the 2018 CrossFit Open.
Alec Smith also chose to not compete this weekend due to illness.
