The 2016 NPGL Draft is today. Beginning at 2pm ET / 11am PT, the eight teams will fill their rosters with new talent. The Los Angeles Reign, 0-3 last season, has the first pick. The draft order is as follows:
- Los Angeles Reign
- Baltimore Anthem
- Miami Surge
- New York Rhinos
- Boston Iron
- San Francisco Fire
- Phoenix Rise
- DC Brawlers
How to Watch the Draft
To watch the draft picks live, go to the NPGL.com homepage. The virtual draft will be hosted on that page. Additionally, the NPGL Twitter account will post each draft as it occurs using the hashtag #NPGLDraft. Additional coverage can be found on Instagram and Facebook.
Prior to today’s draft, however, some teams have already signed some athletes. The two-time defending champs, DC Brawlers, signed four players already (CrossFit Games veterans Jeff Evans and Alexandra LaChance, Emmy Simpkins and Ashley Jordan).
The Miami Surge recruited Brooke Haas and the San Francisco Fire signed Cameron Pernich.
If necessary, a supplemental draft will be held on Tuesday, April 26.
