In a world were sedentary habits are on the rise among children today, we, as CrossFitters, know how important it is to instill healthy habits for our children. From taking them to the gym with us and getting to be active, play sports and to just move, developing healthy habits early is critical. That’s why Lindsey Marcelli created the Color Me Stronger coloring book.
You might know Marcelli as the owner of Girls Gone RX, but now you can add author to her resume. Color Me Stronger features illustrations and activities that encourage children to become more active. From pull-ups to squats to yoga poses, each of the 52 pages embraces a culture of movement.
“My kids love to workout with us in our garage gym or at our local CrossFit affiliate. They also love to color and craft! So since there wasn’t anything out there like this, I decided to give it a shot,” said Lindsey Marcelli. “I never made something like this before, but I’m a ‘just start and figure it out’ type of person.”
My daugher, Skjeie (pronounced Shay), helped pick her favorite movements to be in the book, helped pick the colors for some of the activities included and was Marcelli’s product tester.
Marcelli self-published Color Me Stronger and it is currently ranked #1 in new releases in exercise and fitness for children on Amazon. Priced at $11.99 in paperback form, it is perfect for children aged 3 and up. You can purchase Color Me Stronger on Amazon.
