If you’re heading down to Miami for the 2023 TYR Wodapalooza Fitness Festival, most of your time will be at the competition. But whether you are competing or there to cheer on your favorite athletes, Miami has plenty of exciting things to do when the weights aren’t being thrown around on the competition floor.
To make your trip to Miami even better, we have gathered the best places to get a workout in, grab a coffee, eat a good meal and dance the night away. But we can almost guarantee the places that take reservations will fill up fast, so that’s we are sharing our guide with your now! Don’t blame us if you wait to make your reservations…
Gyms
If you’re competing, you probably can skip this section. You’ll have all the workouts you can handle on the competition floor. For the rest of you, here are some of the best gyms in the area to get your sweat on before heading over to Bayfront Park.
Peak 360 Fitness
You’ve almost certainly heard of Peak 360, especially for those Noah Ohlsen fans. Home to Ohlsen, Peak 360 is led by CrossFit Games veteran Guido Trinidad.
You’ll have to probably take an Uber or Lyft to get to Peak 360 if you’re staying near Bayfront Park as it is 10 miles southwest of Wodapalooza. But this is one gym that is definitely worth the trip!
Downtown Strength and Conditioning
Located just two blocks from Bayfront Park, Downtown Strength and Conditioning is ready for everyone traveling to Wodapalooza. Starting on Monday, DTSC will host numerous community events by some of the top brands in the sport including NOBULL, Nocco, LSKD, MFLH, Inov-8 and WIT.
On top of that, they are offering 1-day and 3-day drop-in passes for those in town. With it being so close, there is no excuse to not get a workout in.
HYBRID Performance Method
HYBRID is located in the Wynwood Arts district and is home to Stefi Cohen and Hayden Bowe. Oh, and Noah Ohlsen also gets a workout in at HYBRID from time to time.
HYBRID offers almost every type of fitness you are looking for – Olympic Weightlifting, Powerlifting, Boxing, Functional Fitness and Strongman.
HYBRID is about 3 miles north of Bayfront Park and is worth a visit.

The Salty Donut
These may not fit your macros, but one look at their donuts and you’ll be unable to resist heading over to The Salty Donut. But don’t think it’s just a donut shop. No, the coffee is just as good.
Located in the Wynwood Jungle, The Salty Donut is the perfect place to get those extra carbs after your morning workout (see above).
Pura Vida
Ok, so maybe you want to stay on track with your diet. It is the start of the year…new year’s resolutions…and stuff. That’s where Pura Vida comes in.
Pura Vida uses locally sourced organic ingredients (when available) to make their recipes from scratch daily. From all-day breakfast to superfood smoothies to acai bowls to coffee, Pura Vida will get your day off to a healthy start.

Restaurants
Miami is home to a ton of great restaurants so it’s hard to narrow down to just a few to highlight. But here are some to consider while in town.
Over Under
Just a couple blocks from Bayfront Park, Over Under is a modern American cocktail bar and kitchen. Over Under has its fair share of alcoholic beverages, but it also serves some of Miami’s best bar cuisines on its Floridian-inspired menu.
Its Cheeseburger features Florida grass-fed beef and is akin to a high-end Big Mac. But before that, make sure to try the Treasure Coast Oysters or the smoked fish dip.
LPM Miami
If you’re looking for something a little more high-end, check out LPM Miami. This restaurant in Brickell, just south of Wodapalooza, features high-end French fare with a hint of Mediterranean flare.
The yellow freshtail carpaccio and butter- and herb-soaked escargot are some of the highlights of the menu. But don’t expect to just walk in and grab a table. It’s recommended to get a reservation for this one.
Los Felix
Located in Coconut Grove, the menu at Los Felix is inspired by the milpa farming techniques used in Mexico and South America. This Mexico City-inspired restaurant features items such as tacos, quesadillas, tostadas and tamales. But don’t be fooled, these are not your run-of-the-mill tacos.
The corn tortillas are made fresh every morning and are filled with some of the best flavor combinations. Run, don’t walk to Los Felix.
Other Restaurants to try
Don’t be surprised if the restaurants highlighted above run out of reservations fast. If they do, you can always try these out.
Amara at Paraiso
Caja Caliente
Edge Steak & Bar
La Mar
Lucali
Lung Yai Thai Tapas
Stubborn Seed
Nightclubs
After the athletes finish their last reps under the lights, there’s always time to hit some of the best night clubs around. Here are some worth checking out…for those who can’t sleep/won’t sleep.
Basement
Basement is not like other nightclubs. This hip club is underground, hence the name. Once inside, you can bowl on their neon-lit lanes or hit up their indoor ice skating rink. Of course, if you just want to dance you can head over to the Basement’s “micro-club” that offers up world class DJs, state-of-the-art sound system and lighting to match.
Kiki on The River
Embracing the hospitality and spirit of the Greek islands, Kiki on The River provides romantic waterfront dining on the weekdays, but turns to a Mykonos-inspired nightclub on the weekend.
Kicking off on Friday night, the party atmosphere is turned up with a live DJ and dancing all through the night.
Treehouse Miami
Located in the heart of Miami Beach, Treehouse Miami features some of the best DJs from around the world, including Stereo, Vertex, Anjunabeats, Anjunadeep, Future Sound of Egypt, Incorrect, Deep State & more.
In fact, on Friday, January 13, Anjunadeep will be playing at Treehouse Miami.
