The CrossFit Open 17.1 announcement will begin with two head-to-head battles. Dave Castro will make the first announcement of the season from Paris, France. Following the announcement, 3rd place finisher of the 2016 CrossFit Games Patrick Vellner will face off against 4th place finisher Brent Fikowski in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Also that night, Samantha Briggs (not this Sam Briggs) will square off against Kristin Holte in Paris. Coverage of the Open announcement and following workouts will be aired on games.crossfit.com.
Following these battles, Adrian Bozman and Rory McKernan will begin their 2017 battle.
