Last month, the CrossFit Games announced its 2015 version was nominated for two SportsTravel awards. The nominations were for Best Professional Multi-Discipline / Multi-Sport event and Best Sports Event of the Year. The winners were selected by fan votes, in which the CrossFit Games promoted the nomination and provided a link to vote.
The results were just announced and the 2015 Reebok CrossFit Games won the Best Professional Multi-Discipline or Multi-Sport Event award. The 2016 NBA Finals won the Sports Event of the Year award.
To be nominated, the event required:
- Superior organization of and attendance at the event
- The event provided a superior experience for competitors and/or spectators
- The event’s host city or venue served to enhance the event
The award was presented during a gala event at the TEAMS ’16 Conference & Expo in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Tuesday night.
