Last year, over 262,000 athletes competed in the Open, the largest in Open history. Here is an infographic showing what it took to make it to Regionals last year. For most athletes, the CrossFit Open is a test to see how far one has come over the past year or to compete against friends. However, for the top 1%, the CrossFit Open is the first step to make it to the CrossFit Games.

Buckle your seatbelts…because in 51 days, 16.1 will be announced. Until then, work on those muscle-ups, handstand push-ups and built up that engine. You’re going to need it.
