Adrian Conway told Chris Spealler on the Icon Athlete Podcast that he will be going Team in 2017. He will compete with a team from Wasatch CrossFit where he is a head coach. Conway continued to tell Spealler that he and Wasatch CrossFit would be sharing more about the team within the next month.

Conway said near the end of the podcast, “This year, the plan is for me to actually give back to the CrossFit Games, but on a team and so we’re really excited about what that process may look like for Wasatch CrossFit. Yeah, we’ll be trying to make some official announcements with that in the next coming month or so.”

Conway said that his priorities have changed over the past year. He has joined Brute Strength as an Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning. Additionally, in October his wife, Ashley, announced that the couple was expecting a baby (boy) due in May 2017.

Wasatch CrossFit has several elite athletes at the gym including Games veteran Tiffany Hendrickson is a coach at Wasatch CrossFit. Michaela North also trains out of Wasatch CrossFit. North finished 6th in the South Regional in 2016. If Hendrickson and North go team as well, keep an eye out for Wasatch CrossFit in 2017.

Adrian Conway is a CrossFit Games veteran, making it to the Games as an individual in 2015 where he finished 21st. Conway was also on The Hack’s Pack teams that won the CrossFit Games Team competition in 2012 and 2013. He went individual in 2014, but tore his biceps days before the start of Regionals causing him to withdraw.

Conway narrowly missed out on qualifying for a third consecutive year in 2016 finishing 7th in the South Regional. Only eight points out of 5th place, Conway joined other Games veterans like Elijah Muhammad and Jordan Cook just outside the cut line.
