Cortney Bachelor broke her own USA Weightlifting American Record with an 87kg snatch at the American Open Series 1 event this weekend. Batchelor, who competed in the 53kg weight category, missed her opening attempt at 84kg, but came back with a successful 84kg lift on her second. She followed that up with an 87kg snatch and a new American Record.
Batchelor went on to win the Women’s 53kg weight category with an 87-102-189 stat line, beating Caitlin Hogan via the tiebreaker.
