CrossFit Liftoff Workouts Released…Code Word “Lunar Module”

The 2016 CrossFit Liftoff powered by Rogue Fitness is live. CrossFit announced the three scored eventsĀ of this year’s competition. The first two events were expected, a 1RM snatch and a 1RM clean and jerk. Professional Olympic weightlifters are expected to win these two events. Caine Wilkes and Sarah Robles (2016 Olympic bronze medalist) won last year’s snatch and clean and jerk events.

The third workout, however, puts the advantage back in the hands of CrossFitters. The metcon starts with pull-ups and also features 100 overhead squats as part of the 15-minute AMRAP.


Rx’d Workout
Complete as many rounds as possible in 15 minutes of:
25 pull-ups
50-calorie row
100 overhead squats
50 box jumps
25 pull-ups

M 45-lb. barbell and 24-in. box
F 35-lb. barbell and 20-in. box


To prevent competitors from using a 1RM from outside of the competition window, athletes electing to submit scores via video much precede each lift with the attempted weight and must say the code word, “LUNAR MODULE“.

Scores are due by Monday, November 7, 2016 at 8PM Eastern time.
