Gary and Alea Helmick Decline Invite, Going Team

Gary and Alea Helmick were one of the great story lines of last year’s CrossFit Games. The couple were the first husband and wife to compete at the CrossFit Games since Matt and Cherie Chan both competed at the Games in 2011. Alea finished 26th while Gary ended in 27th.

This year, the couple both qualified to compete at the Atlantic Regional as individuals. However, the Helmicks declined their individual invite and have chosen to compete on their Affiliate Team, CrossFit Revamped.

The team currently sits in 5th in the Mid Atlantic region.

After the year we had in 2016, @aleahelmick and I have decided to go team with our awesome crew @crossfitrevamped. We are so excited for the change of pace and new experiences that team training brings to the table. Hopefully we will see another married couple make it to the @crossfitgames together soon because there is nothing like it!
