On Saturday, Michele Letendre competed at the Classique due Quebec 2017 weightlifting event in order to qualify to the 2017 Pan American Championships for Canada. Letendre, competing in the 58kg weight category, finished with an 88kg snatch, 106kg clean & jerk and a 194kg total. In pounds, that is a 194-pound snatch and a 233-pound clean & jerk while weighing less than 128 pounds.

With that total, Letendre was able to qualify for her first international competition. The 2017 Pan American Championships are from July 20-27 in Miami, Florida.

Letendre retired from competing in the CrossFit Games after the 2016 season. She made it to the CrossFit Games six straight years from 2011-2016 with her best finish coming in 2014, 4th place.

While not looking to advance to Regionals, Letendre has been participating in the 2017 CrossFit Open. Through 17.4, Letendre sits in 16th place in the Canada East region and could compete at Regionals with a good 17.5 score.
