In the escalating footwear battle within CrossFit, Nike is set to release the newest members of the Metcon line. Nike-sponsored athletes Mat Fraser and Sara Sigmundsdottir recently shared the upcoming release on social media. Now we have more details of the highly anticipated shoes.
The Nike Metcon 3 has a 4mm offset and is the most stable version in the Metcon series. From box jumps to squats to explosive lifts, the Nike Metcon 3 is designed to offer the perfect blend of stability and flexibility.
The Nike Metcon 3 ($130) will be available via Nike iD on December 19 and at Nike.com on January 5.
The Nike Metcon DSX Flyknit has been designed for functional fitness in addition to high intensity cardio workouts. Think of it as a running shoe that can also be used in a CrossFit setting. The Flywire and Flyknit on the mid-foot provide a dynamic fit for running, jumping, cutting and lifting. The Metcon DSX has a higher offset (6mm) than the Metcon 3 as well as more cushioning for longer distance running.
The Nike Metcon DSX Flyknit ($160) will be available on January 2 at Nike.com.
