The Team Canada roster for the 2016 CrossFit Invitational was been released. As in previous years, the top finishers at the previous year’s CrossFit Games were invited.
Patrick Vellner and Brent Fikowski took 3rd and 4th, respectively at the 2016 CrossFit Games.
Carol-Ann Reason-Thibault and Michele Letendre placed 14th and 16th, respectively.
Camille Leblanc-Bazinet will be the team coach.
There was speculation that Alessandra Pichelli, 9th at the 2016 CrossFit Games, would be invited to participate on Team Canada as she was born in Montreal and raised in Canada and Japan. It is unclear if she was invited, but declined, or if Letendre and Reason-Thibault were CrossFit’s first choices.
This will likely be Letendre’s final major competition following her announcement that the 2016 CrossFit Games would be her last.
