There was a lot of talk about the Anderson family during the Central and Atlantic Regionals the past two weeks. The three brothers, ZA (Zach) and Jacob competing in the Atlantic Regional and Alex competing in the Central Regional, were one of a few families with multiple athletes competing.
Once the dust settled, Jacob qualified for the CrossFit Games after finishing in 4th place while Alex Anderson finished 3rd to make his second consecutive Games appearance.
Xwerks asked Jacob a few questions about regionals and his family’s involvement with CrossFit. Here’s what he had to say.
Xwerks: How does it feel to qualify for the games and be the 4th member of your family to go?
Jacob: I am very excited to qualify for the games, and be the fourth Anderson to go. I don’t believe any family has qualified 4 different family members, so it is pretty cool to be apart of that.
Xwerks: What was it like competing along with your older brother Zach?
Jacob: He is the reason Alex and I both do CrossFit, so it was very exciting to see him competing again. It was a little nerve wrecking watching him, but it was a lot of fun to be able to compete together.
