On THE SPIN, Calum Marsh joined the show to talk about his new book, The Glass Box, coming out on October 27 (buy on Amazon). In the book, Marsh documents the history of CrossFit – from when Greg Glassman trained clients out of globo gyms to the Black Box Summit to the rise of the CrossFit Games and finally to present day.
Marsh shed light on what it was like within the organization based on numerous interviews with those inside the company, including Greg Glassman and Dave Castro. It’s quite the book.
After that we rated the new structure for the 2027 CrossFit Games season. Our rating system was based on 0-8 slices of pizza.
Then we turned our attention to the Rogue Invitational. John, Tyler and Spin gave our predictions (1-20) for both the men and women. Tyler’s predictions are crazy, right?
John and Tyler made a bet regarding the final placement of Dani Speegle and Lucy Campbell. If Dani beats Lucy at the end of the weekend, John will shave his head. When that doesn’t happen, Tyler will have to wear a toupee (of our choosing) on the show.
Then it was Blind Rankings – who is most likely to withdraw from the Rogue Invitational.
We then wrap up with our thoughts on the Big’s Backyard Ultra where Mark Dowdle and Jon Noll went 106 loops (Dowdle did 107).
Oh, and is Roman leaving Mayhem a big deal? Or did Spin exaggerate that Mayhem was ‘shaking’?
