Next year’s USA Weightlifting’s (USAW) National University and Under 25 Championships will take place on the campus of the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. The 2016 event just concluded last week in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The timing of the 2017 event has also been moved. The championships will take place April 6-9, 2017, rather than usual timing in late summer/early fall.
The Stephen C. O’Connell Arena, normally home to Gators’ basketball and volleyball games, will host the competition with the Holiday Inn University of Florida will be the competition hotel.
The competition will be a qualification event for the 2017 World University Games in Taipei City, Chinese Taipei.
