The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has dismissed Alexei Lovchev’s appeal of his anti-doping violation from the 2015 IWF World Championships. The CAS’ decision to uphold the International Weightlifting Federation’s (IWF) decision means Lovchev will serve a four-year ban and the removal of his clean and jerk world record.
With the 264kg clean and jerk invalidated, Hossein Reza Zadeh’s 263kg lift remains the world record.
