It’s Official: Ilya Ilyin’s 2008 and 2012 Olympic Results Disqualified

The Disciplinary Committee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has finally confirmed that Ilya Ilyin and 19 other weightlifters’ results from the 2008 and 2012 Olympics have been disqualified. The disqualification comes as a result of the IOC’s Reanalysis testing conducted in the months leading up to the 2016 Rio Olympics.

In total, 10 results from the 2008 Games were disqualified while 12 were disqualified from the 2012 Games per the IOC’s November 28 report.

The IWF will take over the cases after the 21 day appeal deadline expires. To view the status of the open cases, you can visit the IWF’s Reanalysis page.
