The United States Anti-Doping Agency announced a 4-year suspension for Ryan Hudson on Thursday. Hudson, 38, tested positive for stanozolol during an in-competition drug test at the 2015 American Open.

USADA put Hudson on a six-month provisional suspension following the positive test, something USADA does for all athletes who test positive for doping substances like anabolic agents. Hudson then violated the provisional suspension by competing in a USAW-sanctioned event. USADA concluded the violation was inadvertent and began the period of ineligibility 30 days following Hudson’s violation.

Hudson’s 4-year suspension began on May 24, 2016 and will run through May 24, 2020.

Hudson placed 22nd in the 77kg weight category at the 2015 USAW American Open with a 263kg total.
