Colten Mertens defended his title at CRASH Crucible this weekend while Paige Rodgers (formerly Paige Powers) proved she is well on her way to coming back from giving birth eight months ago. Both won the 2025 CRASH Crucible by over 70 points.
Mertens tallied three event wins throughout the weekend and held the leader’s jersey throughout following his Event 1 victory. It did, however, get close on Sunday after Quinn Robinson won back-to-back events on Event 4 and 5 to pull within 24 points heading into the final event.
But within seconds after the start of the final event it was clear that Mertens was going to retain his title. Mertens would go on to finish the final event in 2:53, the only athlete to break 3:00 in the strict parallette HSPU and finisher flip sprint workout.
With that third win Mertens ended up beating Robinson by 74.45 points on the overall leaderboard. Robinson would take second while Mayhem’s Sam DeMeester finished 3rd overall.Â
On the women’s side, Paige Rodgers was dominant throughout. Rodgers never finished worse than 5th all weekend long and notched two event wins on her way to winning the 2025 CRASH Crucible and the $10,000 prize purse for first place.
Behind her, Maddi Foutz battled back after a 22nd place finish on Event 4 to take 2nd place overall. Rounding out the podium was Reese Littlewood. Littlewood had a wild final three events. A 17th, 1st and 17th place finish bounced Littlewood around the leaderboard to wrap up the weekend, but, ultimately, the former Teenage CrossFit Games champion would take 3rd place.
