2027 WFP Series Events: Dates & Qualifying Spots

Earlier today the World Fitness Project announced changes to its 2027 season format. Gone are the official Tour Stops. They are now replaced by 10 competitions called the World Fitness Series.

The Pro Individual division will now qualify 26 men and 26 women to the World Fitness Championship via these 10 series events.

As such, the WFP is eliminating the season point system and will be replacing it with a qualifying system where the top athletes at each of competition will qualify for the World Fitness Championship (similar to the CrossFit Sanctionals or the new CrossFit Semifinals).

The Series organizers have started rolling out Instagram posts outlining the number of spots that are up for grabs at their event.

For the Pro Individual division, here is a breakdown of the 2027 season dates and the number of qualifying spots (in parentheses):

April 16-18: Athens Throwdown (3)
June 25-27: The Italian Championship (3)
July 2-4: Atlantic Coast Classic (1)
July 23-25: Monster Games (3)
August 14-16: FITLAND Fitness Festival (1)
September 4-7: TCB (3)
September 10-12: Wodcelona (3)
September 24-26: Down Under Championship (3)
October 15-17:Oslo Throwdown (3)
November 5-7: Desert City Classic (3)

Eight of the 10 Series Events will qualify the top 3 men and women to the World Fitness Championship. Two Series Events, the Atlantic Coast Classic and FITLAND Fitness Festival, will only send one man and one woman.

The calendar does partially overlap with the 2027 CrossFit Games season as four of the Series Events are between April and July, the heart of the Semifinals stage and the CrossFit Games.

Athletes who elect to attempt to qualify will still need to navigate some of the larger off-season competitions like GYMREAPERS Wodapalooza SoCal in September and the Rogue Invitational in October.

The news is still developing and I’m sure more details will be coming out shortly. Stay tuned…
