2026 WFP Rulebook & Drug Policy is Published

The World Fitness Project has published its rulebook and drug policy for the 2026 WFP season. The 31-page rulebook outlines the season structure, provides general rules and requirements of the season, information surrounding online qualifiers and video review and links to the current WFP Drug Policy.

The 2026 rulebook formalizes the details laid out three weeks ago when the season schedule was released. However, it does add additional context surrounding how the elite team division will work – from registration to substitutions, etc.

It also provides guidelines on how the video review process and appeals will work within the season.

The tiebreak formula is also laid out in detail, something the 2025 rulebook did not address.

The 2026 WFP rulebook also links to the current Drug Policy. It appears that the WFP has reinstated cannabinoids as a banned substance during competitions.

If you remember last year Alex Gazan admitted that she had taken a CBD gummy while competing in Indianapolis for Tour Stop 1. After I reported that taking a cannabinoid was against the WFP drug policy, Will Moorad and the WFP issued a statement that cannabinoids were allowed and that the rulebook had just not been updated.

Well, looks like cannabinoids are back on the banned substance list…unless they made another mistake…

What’s Missing?

There are still a few notable unknowns after reading the 2026 WFP rulebook.

First, the season points are based on the points accrued while competing at each of the three competitions. However, we don’t know what the scoring table looks like based on a 50-athlete field.

Second, a movement list has not yet been published. Last year the WFP published a list of potential movements that could be programmed throughout the season. While several movements in the WFP Finals were not listed, it did provide a framework that athletes could rely on. This has not yet been published for the 2026 season.
