Austin Hatfield won’t be flying to Copenhagen next month for the WFP Finals. Hatfield has notified WFP organizers that his is withdrawing from the season finale. Matt Gilpin has accepted a backfill invite to replace Hatfield.
No reason was given for Hatfield’s decision to withdraw from the competition.
Hatfield had accumulated 910 season points after the first two Tour Stops, good for 3rd place overall, and almost guaranteed himself a Pro Card for the 2026 WFP season. Now, however, Hatfield will likely drop outside the top 20 in season points.

Gilpin will now enter the WFP Finals ranked 34th in WFP season points with 390. However, with double the points there is still an opportunity for Gilpin to move into the top 20 and grab a Pro contract.
Hatfield joins Jayson Hopper, Sam Kwant and Victor Hoffer, all WFP Pros, who will not compete at the WFP Finals in Copenhagen.
The WFP Finals are December 18-21 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The top 20 men and women will earn (or retain) a Pro Card for the 2026 WFP season.
