Sam Dancer is Back! He Joins Jorge Fernandez & Joshua Al-chamaa on Wodapalooza Team

Just five months after having surgery to repair a ruptured distal biceps tendon, Sam Dancer will be back on the competition floor. That’s right…Dancer will be competing on a team in January at Wodapalooza. He will be joined by the two men on CrossFit Invictus’ CrossFit Games team that finished on the podium – Jorge Fernandez and Joshua Al-chamaa.

Because CrossFit Invictus finished on the podium, 3rd place, at the 2022 CrossFit Games, the members of that team are given an automatic invitation to compete with a third athlete in the elite team division. And Dancer will be that guy.

Of course, the news of this is technically not a surprise as Jorge Fernandez shared the news when he joined The Barbell Spin podcast back in October. However, at that time Fernandez was unsure whether or not Dancer would be healthy enough to compete.

But back to Wodapalooza, the Invictus crew is just the latest of big name teams to sign up for this year’s team competition. Most recently on the men’s side, Rich Froning announced he is headed to Miami with teammate Sam Cournoyer and Tyler Christophel.

Other notable men’s teams competing include:

Ben Smith, Alec Smith & Dane Smith
Brent Fikowski, Pat Vellner and Jeff Adler
Ricky Garard, Tim Paulson & Matt Dlugos
Cole Sager, Jayson Hopper & James Sprague
Noah Ohlsen, Travis Mayer & Chandler Smith
