This morning I published the leaderboards of the elite individuals and teams at the 2026 Wodapalooza. But if you have been following closely, the men’s leaderboard is different today than it was when the final event was canceled Friday night.
The reason is that Nick Mathew’s score for 26.3 was adjusted over the weekend after it came to light that Mathew mistakenly skipped the first 12 burpees in the third round (after adding weights to make it a 115-pound barbell) during the workout Thursday afternoon.
Leaderboard on Friday Night
On Friday night, I shared a screenshot of the leaderboard on Competition Corner. It showed James Sprague in 1st, Ty Jenkins in 2nd, Austin Hatfield in 3rd and Jonne Koski in 4th. Koski was just two points behind Hatfield for a podium spot.

The Appeal
However, it appears that Mathew’s score was called into question when another athlete was reviewing his own video of 26.3 and noticed that Mathew went straight from thrusters to power cleans in the third round.
Because of this, Mathew’s score was adjusted, thereby creating a cascade effect such that several athletes moved up a spot in the event. One of those athletes was Jonne Koski.
As you can see, on Sunday night the leaderboard reflected Koski in 3rd and Hatfield in 4th.

Monday
This morning, however, more adjustments were made to the leaderboard. Mathew dropped from 6th overall to 8th place with Max Krieg moving up to 6th and Luka Djukic up to 7th place.
And on the podium, Austin Hatfield and Jonne Koski are now tied for 3rd place. Hatfield and Koski will each share $15,000 (as 3rd place prize was $20,000 and 4th place was $10,000).
Mathew’ Re-Do
Nick Mathew has already re-attempted 26.3 back home at his gym, Tonka CrossFit. Mathew recorded 261 reps, which is currently good for 149th in the world.Â
Mathew will easily advance to Quarterfinals…
