The inaugural TYR Cup wrapped up this weekend at TYR Wodapalooza SoCal in Huntington Beach, California. Sixteen of the top athletes divided into two teams, North America vs the World, in a head-to-head battle.
The teams squared off in 11 events with varying formats. From individual spotlight events to WZA Teams of 3 to All Hands, the teams consisting of four men and four women had to strategize in order to best utilize their team’s strengths.
It was close with the teams tied 4-4 heading into Sunday. However, Team North America rallied on Sunday with three consecutive event wins to capture the TYR Cup before the final Captain’s Event.
Team World capped off the competition with one more event win to bring the final score to 7-6, advantage Team North America.
