WFP Tour Stop 1 Moves to London Following Turmoil in Mexico

Earlier this week I reported that the World Fitness Project was evaluating contingency plans for Tour Stop 1 in Mexico City this May. After the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) attacked various locations in western Mexico, the United States State Department categorized Mexico City as a Level 3 advisory, urging U.S. citizens to reconsider traveling.

This morning the WFP enacted on its contingency plan and is moving the location of Tour Stop 1 to London, United Kingdom. The first competition of the 2026 WFP season will remain on the same weekend, May 1-3, despite moving continents.

“We did not take this decision lightly and began working on contingency plans directly following the initial news over the weekend” said Jackson Terry, WFP Director of Operations. “We immensely appreciate and recognize the support provided by the community in Mexico and look forward to returning in various capacities in the future”.

According to a WFP press release, the WFP consulted with government officials and agencies in Mexico before making the decision to relocate Tour Stop 1.

Due to the change in venue, the WFP has extended the Tour Stop 1 Online Qualifier an additional seven days. While it was originally scheduled to end tonight, February 25, scores for the online qualifier are now due on March 4 at 8:00pm Central Standard Time.

As for those who purchased tickets for Tour Stop 1 in Mexico City, the WFP will sending out information on how to receive a full refund.

The 2026 WFP Tour Stop 1 will now be at Drumsheds in Edmonton in the London Borough of Enfield on May 1-3.
