Following the split of the Masters, Teenage and Adaptive divisions from the individual and team CrossFit Games, Northern Spirit stepped in to become the Official Sponsor of the CrossFit Games for those three divisions on top of being the sponsor of the 2024 CrossFit Games Semifinals where athletes received uniforms.
Those uniforms at Semifinals were optional and athletes could elect to wear apparel of their choice. But for the CrossFit Games, the uniforms provided by Reebok and NOBULL in the past and now Northern Spirit for the Masters, Teenage and Adaptive CrossFit Games will be required.
In previous years, athletes would receive a plethora of shirts, shorts, pants, shoes and other accessories. It was common to see athletes share a photo on social media of all the apparel they received at check-in.
But in speaking with age group and adaptive athletes this year, it appears the amount of apparel will be drastically reduced. In fact, according to an email sent to athletes in those divisions, Northern Spirit will only be supplying three tops (and three sports bras for women), three bottoms and some additional accessories. Essentially, athletes will receive three uniforms for the weekend.
The screen shot below is the list of apparel that athletes will be able to wear as part of their official uniform.
The problem is that these athletes will likely face 10 or more events over the course of four days, meaning that athletes will need to re-use apparel for multiple events or days. For athletes who will be staying in hotels and competing all day, finding access to adequate laundry facilities or just the time to do laundry at the end of a competition day may be difficult.
“NOBULL gave us one uniform, a shirt and pair of shorts, for every event,” an athlete told The Barbell Spin. He added, “We have more than 9-10 events and we only receive 2 shirts, a tank top and three pairs of shorts.”
In speaking with another athlete, they responded with, “Are they providing laundry services?” Another athlete joked, “Last event for the day will be a quick wash.”
As for the individual and team athletes, that apparel will be supplied by GORUCK. The amount of apparel those athletes can expect has not yet been disclosed.
