Baylee Rayl Christophel Cuts Season Short to Focus on New Passion

Baylee Rayl Christophel is the latest athlete to announce that she will not be competing the rest of the 2024 CrossFit Games season. A day after the first score submission window, Baylee announced via her YouTube page that she has been called to follow a new passion outside the sport of CrossFit this year.

Baylee has been to the CrossFit Games five times, twice on a team and the past three seasons as an individual. This year, Baylee was 80th worldwide in the CrossFit Open and 18th in the North America East region. However, her name was absent from the Quarterfinals leaderboard last night.

Over the past three weeks, Baylee has been on a 30 gym, 30 coffee shop, 30 city tour around the Midwest. In her YouTube while speaking with Rory McKernan, Baylee said that the tour has solidified her decision to pursue a new passion. So with that, Baylee did not sign up for Quarterfinals, effectively ending her season.

Rather than competing this year, she will focus on a new project, Called to B. Baylee’s vision for Called to B is “to empower individuals with the tools and support they need to live out the calling for their lives. The plan is to launch the brand in June, but she has set up a website to subscribe to an email list to get updates along the way.

Baylee is the 14th female from the 2023 CrossFit Games who won’t be returning as an individual this season. Just last night, Katrin Davidsdottir announced that she would not be competing due to a back injury.
