Cristiano Damasceno Fails Drug Test at 2024 Masters CrossFit Games

Cristiano Damasceno placed 4th in the men’s 45-49 age group division at the 2024 Masters CrossFit Games. However, Damasceno submitted a sample that contained contained 3α-hydroxy-2α-methyl-5α-androstan-17-one, a metabolite of drostanolone, 19-norandrosterone, a metabolite of nandrolone, and exogenous steroids.

Sheesh!

Upon notification of his failed drug test, Damasceno did not appeal the results. As such, he has received a four-year sanction through September 1, 2028.

It was Damasceno’s first appearance at the Masters CrossFit Games. The Brazilian has only competed in the CrossFit Open three times – 2017, 2018, 2024.

With the drug test, Damasceno’s 4th place finish will be relinquished. Nuno Costa will now move into 4th place overall. Mike Kern will now be 5th overall.

Earlier today it was revealed that Shawn Ramirez received a lifetime sanction for violating the CrossFit Games drug testing policy for the second time.
