CrossFit HQ announced today that Laura Phelps-Sweatt has been suspended from competing in CrossFit-sanctioned competitions for one year. Additionally, her team, Westside Conjugate has been disqualified from competing in the Central Regional this weekend.
Phelps-Sweatt did not meet with Drug Free Sport for an out-of-competition drug test, thereby violating the CrossFit Games Drug Testing Policy. Interestingly, Natalie Newhart, who was also suspended by CrossFit HQ two months ago, was coached by Phelps-Sweatt periodically in 2015.
