Friday Night Lights at Farrington Field will feature a “Field Sprint. Rest. 1,600-Meter Run”. While we knew that Friday night’s event at Farrington Field had a track, we did not have any details.
However, this afternoon it was announced that Individual Event 6 will start with a Field Sprint, followed by a rest, and then finishes with a 1,600-meter run.
Details on the field sprint have not yet been disclosed nor has the amount of rest given to the athletes before they take off for the one-mile run. We also don’t know whether this will count as two scored events, and if so, whether they will be 50 or 100 points each.
Friday Night Lights at Farrington Field will be open to the public and will not be limited to those who have purchased a ticket to Dickies Arena. Farrington Field includes seating up to 18,000 while Dickies will seat around 9,000 fans.
What We Know So Far
For individuals, we know three events – Event 1, Run Swim; Event 6, Farrington Field and Chad 1000x. Both outdoor events feature running, but Event 1 appears to be a 3.5-mile run followed by a half-mile swim. The Farrington Field event will be a much shorter run. These will also be the only two outdoor events for the individuals.
Chad 1000x will then be Event 7, the first event Saturday morning and the last event before the first round of cuts Â
As for teams, we only know the first workout. Well, technically we only know the first team event will feature a massive ISLE Paddle Board. We anticipate teams will do a workout at Friday night under the Farrington Field lights, but details have not yet been shared. My guess is that it will be a 4×400-meter relay…
