Jayson Hopper will not be on the competition floor this weekend at the Mayhem Classic. The Fittest Man on Earth notified the organizers of the Mayhem Classic that he needed to withdraw just two days before the start of the competition.
Hopper told The Barbell Spin that he withdrew due to a nagging groin injury that he has recently been dealing with.

Now, rather than looking to qualify out of the Mayhem Classic, Hopper’s goal is to heal up to be ready for Syndicate Crown on the last weekend of May.

With Hopper out, it leaves Jeff Adler, Austin Hatfield, Colten Mertens and Roman Khrennikov as the favorites vying for the three qualifying spots.
Hopper is not the only athlete to withdraw from a Semifinal today. Earlier this afternoon we reported that Justin Medeiros had withdrawn from the Legends Championship. The Legends Championship is next week on April 17-19 in Del Mar, California.
