Kristof Horvath Hit by Car While Riding Bike to Gym

Kristof Horvath is sitting in 1st place on the Hungarian National Championship leaderboard. But just two days after 20.5 and the 2020 CrossFit Open came to a close, Horvath was hit by a car while riding his bike to the gym.

This morning Horvath was riding his bike on the bike path and a motorist ran over him while driving over the speed limit. Horvath was quickly rushed to the hospital by an ambulance where they determined he suffered a dislocated right collar bone. Further tests will be conducted tomorrow to determine if there is any ligament damage.

If the MRI shows ligament damage it might mean that surgery will be required.

Horvath was planning to compete at the CrossFit Filthy 150, but that appears to be unlikely at this time. He was also on the 1st place team with Jamie Headon, Matilde Garnes and Jacqueline Dahlstrom for the Dubai CrossFit Championship online qualifier (via the Open).

Horvath’s plan is to compete as an individual at the 2020 CrossFit Games, but he will now need to wait for tomorrow’s test results to find out what his rehab will look like between now and next August.
