Last year CrossFit left the StubHub Center in Carson, California, for the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wisconsin. The move was the culmination of an RFP process that had cities all over the United States bidding for the Games. CrossFit ultimately decided on Madison and signed a three-year agreement with the city.
With the 2018 CrossFit Games just weeks away, CrossFit and the city of Madison announced that they extended their contract thereby bringing the Games to Madison for two additional years, through 2021.
Last year over 70,000 fans attended the Games, generating over $12 million in tourism spend during that week. With the Games growing each year, let’s hope the agreement included improving the wireless signal inside the venue.
