Mid-Atlantic CrossFit Challenge Increases Field for 2020 Sanctional

The Mid-Atlantic CrossFit Challenge (MACC) has announced that it is increasing the number of qualifying spots for its 2020 Sanctional. The MACC will now open 40 spots for individual men and women as well as elite teams looking to earn an invite to compete at the 2020 CrossFit Games.

With 40 athletes competing, the field will be twice the size for elite individuals compared to the inaugural Sanctional in 2019. The elite teams will be about the same size. The RX and Scaled team competitions will also feature 60 teams each, up from 40 each last year.

The 2020 MACC Online Qualifier begins January 1 for individuals and January 29 for teams. Both qualifiers are two weeks. More information will be released over the coming weeks.

In 2019, John-Paul Hethcock, Meg Reardon and Team Don’t Stop represented the MACC at the CrossFit Games. At the Games, Hethcock finished 46th, Reardon took 24th and Don’t Stop ended up 6th on the overall leaderboard. In total, 9 athletes that competed at the MACC would go on to compete at the Games last year.

The 2020 MACC will be held April 17-19, 2020 in Washington, DC.
