The 2024 Team Quarterfinals are over, but not official. The second and final score submission window closed last night and the leaderboard has been updated to reflect all four workouts. Those scores, however, are not final until the video review process is complete. Until then, Noah Ohlsen’s Peak 360 CrossFit team sits in 1st overall followed by CrossFit Invictus and AR-1 CrossFit Mayhem Unity.
This year’s Team Quarterfinals featured four workouts over the course of five days. The top 30 teams from each region will advance to the CrossFit Semifinals next month where they will compete for a spot at the 2024 CrossFit Games.
Peak 360 CrossFit showed why they are one of the favorites, if not the favorite, in the team competition this year. The crew out of Miami took home two worldwide first place event finishes and never finished worse than 3rd in any workout. Noah Ohlsen, in his first year on a team, formed a super team with Tola Morakinyo, Matilde Garnes and Lena Richter.
In 2nd place on the worldwide leaderboard was last year’s team champion, CrossFit Invictus. However, with only one active returning member on the team, Joshua Al-chamaa, the champs have a much different look this season. Al-chamaa is joined by Chandler Smith, Lauren Fisher and Jessi Smith. Jessi replaced Devyn Kim on the active roster after Kim was moved to an alternate role as she works through a back injury.
And in 3rd place is AR-1 CrossFit Mayhem Unity out of Argentina. The team consists of Piero Gorichon, Santiago Comba, Melina Rodriguez and Maria Camila Quintero. Quintero comes from last year’s AB CrossFit – Mayhem team while the three others all have previous individual CrossFit Games experience. Gorichon, Comba and Rodriguez competed at the 2019 CrossFit Games. Rodriguez also finished 17th in the 2020 CrossFit Games and qualified for the Games on a team back in 2017.
