We knew that individuals would be running outside for Event 1 of the 2025 CrossFit Games. Friday morning individuals were scheduled to take on Run Row Run at 8am on Day 1 of the Games.
We expected teams to also take on an outdoor event from Jennings Landing that morning, but nothing was confirmed.
However, in an email sent to individuals and team athletes, CrossFit has confirmed that there will only be one outdoor event for the 2025 CrossFit Games. In that message, it states, “This event will take approximately one hour each for the individual athletes and teams.”
It continues, “All other events will take place inside the MVP arena, an environmentally controlled venue.

The message continues by discussing potential temperatures in Albany and ways to acclimate to the heat. It was a similar message as the recently published whitepaper by the PFAA.
Other Pertinent Information
The Course. The information provided to the athletes also states that the course is a one mile out, one mile back run course. This means the potential course I drew up a few weeks is not correct.
Instead, athletes will run out and back twice during the four-mile run. They will complete their 3,000-meter row at Jennings Landing before heading back out for one more out and back path to complete the final two miles.

Water. Bottled water will be available at the start/finish line at Jennings Landing as well as every half-mile on the run course.
Ice Bath. CrossFit will also provide an ice bath at the half-mile point on the out-and-back course in case athletes want to stop and cool off.
