Rich Froning to Program Dubai CrossFit Championship Team Competition

The Dubai CrossFit Championship (DCC) announced that Rich Froning will be taking the reigns when it comes to programming the team competition events. In its second year as a Sanctional competition, the DCC will once again invite 10 teams to compete for the opportunity to earn a trip to the CrossFit Games.

Last season the DCC’s team competition challenged the teams by making many of the workouts focus on the individual components rather than teamwork. We don’t know the workouts yet, but Froning has plenty of experience with 10 years of competing at the CrossFit Games – both as an individual and on a team.

During those years Froning won four individual and four team titles.

The DCC will be using the CrossFit Open as the online qualifier this year. Those looking to qualify to compete at the DCC this year must register for the CrossFit Open and the DCC. Teams will need to submit their roster prior to end of 20.1 submission deadline on October 15.

This year’s DCC will be held December 11-14. The 1st place team will take home $20,000 and will be invited to competed at the 2020 CrossFit Games.

Last year Invictus won the DCC and went on to finish 3rd overall at the CrossFit Games.
