“Scores will be valid at the close of competition.” Will CrossFit Review Team Videos?

Teams had until Sunday night at 8pm Eastern to complete the five workouts and submit their scores for the Team Semifinals. The leaderboard is now populated, but what happens next?

CrossFit would historically spend the next week reviewing videos before finalizing the leaderboard. However, this year may be different.

According to Section 2.11 of the 2025 CrossFit Games rulebook, the scores on the leaderboard might be more ‘final’ than in years past.

“Team scores will be valid at the close of competition. CrossFit may request videos for review at its discretion. It is recommended that teams aspiring to qualify for the CrossFit Games have videos available should CrossFit request to review a score,” reads the rulebook.

That first sentence, “Team scores will be valid at the close of competition,” makes it sound like the review process will be different for teams this year.

For the 2024 Team Quarterfinals, the top 40 teams in each region were required to submit videos of all their workouts when scores were due. This year teams must only submit a video in the event that CrossFit requests to review a score.

This year, the rulebook states that the Team leaderboard will be final no later than May 2, just five days after scores were due.

So with videos not already submitted and only five days to finalize the leaderboard it appears that CrossFit will only review a video if something stands out.

In looking at the top 20 teams, there are no wild outliers when it comes to scores. The worst event placement of any top 20 team was 8th Day CrossFit’s Workout 5 score. They placed 60th on the max front squat workout.

So with that, here is the unofficial Team Semifinals leaderboard as of this morning. The top 20 teams will advance to the 2025 CrossFit Games. Will we see any adjustments to the scores or will this essentially be ‘final’?
