The Pegboard Returns to the 2018 CrossFit Games

The pegboard from the 2015 and 2016 CrossFit Games will return today at the 2018 CrossFit Games. There are three events left, the first of which is known, but the final two are still a secret…except for that the pegboard will be in one of them.

Early Sunday morning Dave Castro shared a picture of a pegboard inside the Coliseum with the caption, “She’s back…”

The pegboard made its debut in 2015 with many of the athletes failing to complete a rep on the final event of the CrossFit Games. Castro then reprogrammed the pegboard the following year in an event called “Redemption”.

In a year where the CrossFit Games has drawn upon its history as the basis behind many of the events, don’t be surprised it the pegboard is coupled with thrusters once again.

Oh, and since the pegboard is already up in the Coliseum it would not be surprising to see it used for the teams as well. The teams did face the pegboard in 2016.

Heading into Sunday, Mat Fraser and Tia-Clair Toomey are set to repeat as CrossFit Games champions and Rich Froning’s CrossFit Mayhem Freedom are poised to take back 1st place after finishing in 2nd last year.
