Travis Mayer Out at Mayhem Classic, Agustin Richelme Gets Backfill Invite

Travis Mayer is the latest athlete to withdraw from the Mayhem Classic. This afternoon the Mayhem Classic announced that Agustin Richelme will now be competing at the first In-Person Qualifying Event of the 2025 CrossFit Games season.

The news comes a week after the women’s roster saw some changes. Emma Lawson and Ellie Turner both dropped from the competition last week while Nina Vragovic and Victoria Campos received backfill invites.

As for Mayer’s withdraw, no details were give as to why he has elected to not compete. Mayer did submit a score for the 25.1 of the CrossFit Open. Mayer submitted a score of 283 reps, good for 1,352nd overall.

That score lands him just outside the top 1%. There are still two weeks remaining, but after his withdrawal it starts to beg the question of whether Mayer is going to attempt to qualify for the CrossFit Games or if he is participating without the intention of advancing to the next stage of competition.

Mayer is one of the Pro Card athletes of the World Fitness Project.
